Outreach

The vision of the Outreach ministry is to plan, prepare and promote Christian acts of kindness throughout the community based on Matthew 10:8:

Freely you have received, freely give.

The Outreach ministry of Lifesong church is more than a ministry or a department; it is part of the DNA of our church. We are committed to impacting our community by delivering hope, that our church might be a true representation of God’s love to those around us.

Our ministry is a led by a community of volunteers who organize and orchestrate opportunities to demonstrate the love of Christ in a variety of ways. We host several annual outreaches, historically including: a spring gas giveaway, an early fall school backpack outreach, a Thanksgiving outreach and a Blessing Tree outreach during the Christmas season. We also have monthly or bi-monthly service projects that endeavor to partner with a local organization or help a local community. We strive to come along aside and help existing non-profit organizations achieve their goals by bringing what only the church can bring – the love and hope of Jesus - and not compete with them through the duplication of services.

Recent Partnerships: In early 2010, Lifesong’s Outreach ministry partnered with the YMCA of Central Massachusetts to help the homeless and needy families on South Main Street in Worcester; and in the Spring of 2010 we partnered with Habitat for Humanity on two local building projects.

Is your heart of compassion calling you to serve others in need? Do you want to demonstrate Christ’s love through community service? If the answer is “yes”, the Outreach ministry has opportunities for you to get involved - whether serving in smaller regular ways or through larger events seasonally.
