About Us
Pastor David Payne dreamed of planting a 'simple' church - a place where people connect with God in a church community without the weight of complex structures, ambiguous expectations and cloudy vision. More than 40 people came alongside that dream to make it a reality on September 10, 2006 when 394 people attended the Blackstone Valley Cinema de Lux for the inaugural service of Lifesong Church.
Pastor David established as the purpose of Lifesong Church a focus on reaching the non-churched and the burned-by-church communities through relevant experiences of God’s love. Passionate Sunday experiences, the truth of the Gospel, and the warmth of real community was the fertile soil for connection and growth. By the end of 2007 the church was averaging 262 in weekly attendance with nearly 50 first-time commitments to Jesus Christ. During the same period, Lifesong contributed to the planting of new churches around the country and global missions, giving away more than 13% of it’s income.
The church launched Small Groups and a GrowthTrak for discipleship solidifying real relational space with both people and Christ in 2008, and in 2009 realized 31% growth now touching 343 people on a typical weekend. As Lifesong is in its fifth year, more than 400 people attend the church every weekend, with even more calling it home.
Lifesong Church offers contemporary, Biblically-driven worship services that are alive with energy and creativity, as well as excellent childcare, exciting children’s and student ministries, and multi-faceted smaller group environments. God is at work in and through Lifesong Church.
